Road Prayer

First time I started taking these pictures it was winter, and I was having a new job that was a little bit far from home, and I was finishing quite late. So every time, I was hurrying to take the bus or the tramway. Hurrying because somehow I knew I wasn’t supposed to be outside by myself when the sun would go down. But as it is, nobody can stop the sun to go down, and as it did, I found myself searching for comforting faces through photography. I didn’t know that at first, until more images came in, and the more I looked to it, the more I realized, I mostly searched for female faces, as a way of helping myself feeling more secure, or feeling that I had the right to be there at that particular hour. And I’m sure those women searched for me too. Because every time a woman enters a public space, she would search around to make sure she’s not alone.
